In 1981 a group of independent real estate agents met to found a co-operative that would provide the resources to remain competitive against fast growing franchises, yet retain for their customers all the advantages of their independence.
They established the following membership criteria:

Committment to the ideals of the group.
From those humble beginnings the First National Group of Independent Real Estate Agents has grown to more than 570 offices in Australia and New Zealand.
First National has its executive offices in Melbourne, we run Professional Development programs in all the Capital and provincial cities of Australia.
First National is a Registered Training Organisation, in South East Queensland first National Members have developed their own, more intensive, Professional Development Program.
South East Queensland Academy services the needs of some 750 Sales Consultants, Property Managers, Administration people and Real Estate Agents.
